Current Work

I thrive on tackling wicked problems in an empathic way by leveraging an interdisciplinary combination of research, design thinking, co-creation, futures thinking and entrepreneurial thinking, to create sustainable, systemic solutions. This leads me to being naturally drawn to a wide range of work, and my passion for using design to make a difference to our world means I enjoy wearing several different hats as a Design Lead at Scope Impact. Primarily, I lead the design of new digital services and solutions for Scope programmes and products in the spaces of health, gender, equality and climate.

In addition, I also work on business development, crafting design driven approaches and co-writing proposals and pitches for programs ranging from rapid, hyper local, sprint based engagements, to complex, long term, development initiatives that span multiple geographies. Lastly, I'm responsible for project management and also contribute to improving Scope's own processes and capabilities. The latter includes building a multidisciplinary innovation funnel, as well as envisioning and setting up the Kaleidoscope learning platform - building the foundation for a future skills transfer and capacity building portfolio

Past Work

Over the past decade, I've worked in the spaces of UX, Service, Education, and Product Design, and in each of these, I’ve engaged in research, co-creation, product and project management, business development and entrepreneurship. This has given me the opportunity to lead client facing engagements in a range of domains across several geographies, all while collaborating with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams. This provides me with a truly diverse perspective and I fit the classic T-shaped designer metaphor and my core strengths lie in design strategy, research, co-creation, facilitating workshops and crafting business development approaches. To better showcase these strengths and illustrate my past experience as a design practitioner prior to my time at Scope, here are a few recent case studies featuring a diverse range of domains and skills.

Building an Award Winning Design Education Movement

My current passion project, the Nordic Rebels, emerged from a course I both attended and later co-taught, during my IDBM masters degree. As a team, we aim to build on design driven methods, team dynamics and reflection to reinvigorate the experience of learning and doing.

Our work has resonated with a broader audience as our team had the opportunity to showcase Nordic Rebels at SXSW-EDU 2019. In addition, we were honored and thrilled to get the Danish Design Award in 2019 for Better Learning.

Delivering a Roadmap for Delivery Packaging Solutions

This project, done with one of the world’s largest manufacturers of food packaging, needed my full range of skills as a design strategist, from extensive research, to helping the client think beyond the now, to look towards a more sustainable future solution (both financially and environmentally).

My multidisciplinary team and I also provided the clients with a better understanding of both mega-trends and trends in the industry, as these were part of the basis for our future solution paths.

Designing an App, while Building a Design Practice

This was one of my most challenging projects. I was the project director from HFI and on site at a subsidiary of one of Asia’s largest telecommunication groups. The client needed help to establish a design practice from scratch while also showcasing the value of design to key executives.

In addition, my HFI colleague and I had 6 months to do this, while training client employees in UX best practices to assist us and deliver multiple projects, including an app. In the end, an intense but truly rewarding experience.

Redesigning a Mobile Banking App for Millions

This was one of my favorite projects as my team from HFI is one of the best I have ever worked with. We were tasked by one of India’s largest private financial institutions to redesign their mobile banking experience.

In addition to the traditional design process, we needed to get key C-level stakeholders on board, conduct extensive research and testing across urban and rural India and assist in the development process, all for an app with millions of users. Overall the project was a success as the final app has won awards for the banking experience we created.
